Pici, pecorino and great red wines

Val d’Orcia has hearty country cooking: hand-rolled pasta, sheep’s cheese, cinta senese pork, and some of Italy’s most famous wines all around. In autumn comes the truffle from the Siena hills. The chef builds the menu around the season and your wishes.

  • pici all’aglione (garlic tomato sauce) or with ragù
  • fresh and aged Pienza pecorino with honey
  • cinta senese pork and roasts
  • truffle dishes in autumn
  • ricciarelli and panforte

A week in a farmhouse, worry-free

In Val d’Orcia houses are often isolated and restaurants far away: having a chef for several meals is convenient, especially in the evening. Choose the holiday service in the request and add dates, guests and meals; chefs reply with menu proposals by email.

For holidays the indicative bands are €32-48, €48-72 and €72-88 per person per meal, with ingredients charged separately. Drinks are excluded: for pairings with Brunello di Montalcino and Nobile di Montepulciano there is a separate sommelier service.

When to book

Spring, summer and harvest time are the busiest periods. The minimum is 6 days ahead; for the summer months, groups and stays of several days, 2-3 weeks ahead is better. Give the town and directions to the house: coverage is checked for each request.
