Pricing guide

How much does a private chef cost in Italy?

The bands below are the same ones you choose when you book, to help you get your bearings. The final price is the one in the chef’s proposal, which covers shopping, cooking, service and cleaning.

Lunches, dinners and aperitivo: price per person

Groups of 5 or more. Each band is a menu level, from traditional home cooking to a multi-course gourmet menu.

Gustosa€40-60 per personTraditional cooking, 3 courses, seasonal ingredients.
Tentazione€60-90 per personA richer menu, selected produce, 4 courses.
Esclusiva€90-110 per personMulti-course gourmet menu, premium ingredients.

Up to 4 guests

The chef spends the whole evening on a small table, so the bands start higher.

Gustosa€80-120 per person
Tentazione€120-180 per person
Esclusiva€180-220 per person

Special dates (Christmas, 26 December, New Year’s Eve and Day, Epiphany, Valentine’s Day, Ferragosto on 15 August): bands are doubled.

Holiday chef: price for your stay

For holidays the chef proposes a total price. The indicative band is based on adults, children (who count as half) and the meals you want (breakfasts count as half): €32-48 per person per meal in Gustosa, €48-72 in Tentazione, €72-88 in Esclusiva. Groceries are agreed separately.

Example: 4 adults, 2 children, 3 dinners and 2 lunches in Gustosa: (4 + 1) × 5 meals × €32-48 = €800-1,200 for the stay, groceries excluded.

Events and cooking classes

Events, groups of more than 10 and cooking classes are handled directly by the MyPrivateChef team: you choose an indicative band when you book and receive a complete proposal based on guests, format, chef and kitchen team.

What affects the price

  • Number of guests: the fixed cost of the evening is shared by more people.
  • Menu and ingredients: raw fish, truffle, premium meat and fish raise the band.
  • Date: holidays and high season have higher bands.
  • Equipment: if the kitchen is not equipped the chef may need to bring equipment, and says so in the proposal.
  • Location: long trips to remote villas and countryside houses can add to the price.

What is included

  • Shopping and ingredients (lunches, dinners, aperitivo, events)
  • Preparation and cooking in your kitchen
  • Table service and plating
  • Cleaning up the kitchen

Not included: drinks and wine (a sommelier service is available), groceries for holidays, any extra equipment agreed with the chef.

Pricing FAQ

Is the indicated price the final one?

No: when you book you choose an indicative band, and the final price is the one in the chef’s proposal that you accept online. Nothing to pay before you confirm.

What is included in the chef’s price?

For lunches, dinners, aperitivo and events: shopping, preparation, table service and cleaning the kitchen. For holidays the chef’s fee and the groceries are agreed separately.

Why is the price per person higher for up to 4 guests?

Because the chef still dedicates a whole evening, the shopping and the trip to a small table, so the fixed cost is shared by fewer people.

Do special dates cost more?

Yes: Christmas, 26 December, New Year, Epiphany, Valentine’s Day and Ferragosto have doubled indicative bands.

When do I pay?

Only after choosing a proposal, by secure online card payment. The chef receives your contact details after you confirm.

Are drinks included?

No, wine and drinks are not included; you can request the sommelier service for pairings and selection.

Do I have to tip?

Tipping is not expected in Italy and is not included in the price. If you were happy, a review of the chef is the most useful thank-you.
